Cross the creek to the Bur Dubai side, and you can explore the Textile Souk, brimming with fabrics such as cotton, raw silk, cashmere and wool in every imaginable colour and pattern.
Walk through the covered walkways of the Gold Souk on the Deira side and discover hundreds of stores selling authentic gold jewelry and gemstones beautifully crafted into a variety of styles. It's estimated that there are over 10 tons of gold in the 300 shops of the Gold Souk.
Housed in the Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest structure in the city, built in 1878 with life-size dioramas, colourful exhibits, as well as archeological finds that tell the story of Dubai's evolution from a pearling and fishing village, to a global centre of commerce and innovation.

Take the opportunity to travel back in time in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, also known as Bastakiya. One of the oldest heritage sites in the city, the neighbourhood dates back to the early 1900s. You can discover a bygone era as you wander among its winding alleys and bustling courtyards, and beguiling buildings built with traditional materials such as stone, gypsum, sandalwood, fronds and palm wood.
