Believed to have originated from Sanskrit, Maldives, meaning “garland of islands”, is made up of over 1,190 coral islands. The official religion is Sunni Islam, and the main languages are Divehi and English. The local currency is the Maldivian Rufiyaa (1 USD = 15.39 MVR). At JA Manafaru only US Dollars and Euros are accepted. No prior visa is required, and entry permits are granted upon arrival based on immigration requirements. JA Manafaru is accessible via a 75-minute seaplane transfer from Malé International Airport, or speedboat transfer from Hanimaadhoo Domestic Airport.
Enjoy a scenic seaplane flight with breathtaking over-water views. Guests arriving in Malé will be greeted by a JA Manafaru host and personally escorted to the JA Manafaru Guest Lounge. JA Manafaru is the only resort with two lounges at MLE Airport – one is close to international arrivals and the other is at the seaplane terminal. While waiting, guests are invited to relax in the JA Manafaru Guest Lounge and enjoy complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks, as well as a neck and shoulder massage (subject to availability).
The JA Manafaru Business Centre provides secretarial and administrative assistance with a computer, scanner, printer and high-speed internet connection. Our Experience Hosts at the reception are available 24 hours a day to assist no matter how small or large the task may be. It is located near the boutique area and the resort reception.
Important Note – Green Tax
Effective 1 November 2015, a fee will be charged on all stays at a tourist resort, tourist hotel or tourist vessel in the Republic of Maldives. Under the amended Maldives Tourism Act (Law Number 2/99), this fee – titled “Green Tax” – will be collected from the guest directly by the establishment upon check-in for the entire duration of stay and will be charged on a per person per night basis. The fee for this resort is USD 6 per person per night.
