    Engineering Shift Manager

    Duties and Responsibilities:
     
    • Day to day leadership of shift members (supervisors & engineers) including prioritization and allocation of workload; deploying labour based on the demands and requirements of the task against the competency and capability of resource.
    • Working closely with inbound, outbound, and other support teams (Facilities, Health & Safety, Projects & Events) on a daily basis to ensure direction of labour, and planned engineering activities fully support our Operation.
    • Assessment of engineering team skills and assisting in up skilling and training of staff, including integration of first line maintenance of plant and equipment.
    • Review and optimization of shift cover.
    • Management and development of department processes; including shift handovers, briefs, and defect reporting/resolving
    • Maintain and improve performance to maximize efficiency of operation in line with KPIs
    • Involvement in disciplinary issues in conjunction with the Director of Engineering, involvement in recruitment and training of subordinate associates.
    • Maintain and promote good employee relations on site, ensuring potential problems are dealt with at an early stage.
    • Develop & implement the required S0Ps which support and improve the effectiveness of the assets and their primary activities by ensuring preventative, corrective, predictive, cosmetic emergency maintenances are carried out as per the agreed plan.
    • To develop a culture of team working across all departments and between shifts.
    • To develop clear and concise communication channels across all operational departments and all other business functions.
    • Be available for any emergencies and act in and engineering capacity to protect our guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. To act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status. To inform Engineering Management of any such emergencies.
    • To strive to work in an accident free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guest of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
    • To read, log, track and interpret reading from meters, gauges and other measuring units. To maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on to other shifts.
    • To clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management. To work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organized. To serve as otherwise directed or needed to help maintain the effective and efficient operation of the hotel.
    • Maintain an assessment to the condition of the property buildings and equipment, advising appropriate expenditure levels for it repairs and rectification.
    • Determine trainings required for team members and conducting suitable training programmers to enhance their operational efficiency leading to increase productivity.
