JA Resorts & Hotels recognises the contribution of its top Emirati female employees

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 2016: UAE-based JA Resorts & Hotels is proud to highlight the achievements of the Emirati female associates on its team. The hospitality group has seen a number of its Emirati talent rise through the ranks and take on leadership positions within the organisation. JA Resorts & Hotels’ Chief Operating Officer, David Thomson, states: “We take great pride in nurturing and growing our local talent through our strong Emiratisation program and have implemented a fast track recruitment process to source, select and recruit outstanding UAE National candidates. We are particularly delighted to see the strong work ethic and drive amongst the female employees on our workforce.”

The golfer has a close association with both Dubai and JA Resorts & Hotels. He signed his agreement with JA stating, “The biggest win of my career was at the 2012 Dubai Desert Classic and I was runner up at the event this year. I have an extremely fond attachment to both the city and JA Resorts & Hotels as the tournament’s official co-sponsor. I’m honoured to be part of the JA family and excited to build my collaboration with the brand.”

JA Resorts & Hotels displays a strong agenda for the development of their Emirati talent. The hospitality brand also provides opportunities for its UAE National associates to join and participate in professional hospitality industry associations such as “The Union Internationale des Concierges ďHôtels”, “Les Clefs d’ Or UAE.”, “AICR Côte ďAzur UAE”, “The Emirates Culinary Guild” etc. The hospitality group is proactive in sending its UAE National associates on externally run college and university courses and training programs to further their development in the field. In addition, it recognises the importance that mentors can play in harnessing talent and runs a successful “Hotelier Role Models Mentoring Programme” to source and equip selected line managers with the skills to be mentors to the UAE National associates.

Rafiah Haj joined JA Resorts & Hotels with a background in HR and involvement in the Emirates National Development Program of the Executive Office. She and her team were instrumental in the hiring of 3,000 UAE nationals into the private sector in 2007. She has continued her valuable work in her role as the Emiratisation Manger at JA Resorts & Hotels. Rafia sees Her Excellency Ohood Al Roomy, UAE’s minister of Happiness, as a huge influence and is inspired by Her Excellency’s quote stating: “Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.”

Sara Ahmed joined JA Resorts & Hotels as a Management Trainee in the Front Office at Oasis Beach Hotel in August 2006. She has since risen to the role of Corporate Recruitment Executive of the hospitality group after gaining experience as the Personal Assistant to the Group Emiratisation Director. “I enjoy the dynamism that is a part of my current role. I have continued to learn and develop through my journey at JA Resorts & Hotels and find the process of recruitment in the digital age extremely interesting. The happiness I see on the faces of selected candidates also adds immense gratification to my job”, says Sara.
