To Champion a Cause

jebel ali golf resort & spa green globe awardDubai, 31 July 2012 - Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, in an effort to maintain their commitment to the environment, have appointed a senior member of the management team as their ‘CSR & Green Globe Champion’ whose role is to specifically oversee any CSR efforts.

Emirati, Nada Ali was selected based on her continuous involvement in resort initiatives and was nominated by General Manager, Fredrik Reinisch. Nada has been an active member of the resort team for seven years and welcomes the new challenges that come with this new position.

Nada said “Taking on the role of CSR & Green Globe Champion for a 5* resort hasn’t come without its challenges, but I believe we can and will do better. My main aim is to create awareness of our programmes, engage with and encourage our guests and ultimately change people’s perceptions”.

The resort will build a committee, under Nada’s leadership, which will pull in different departments and therefore address all aspects of the resort from sustainability restrictions in the kitchens to reducing water and electricity consumption around the resort and everything in-between.

nada ali green championFredrik Reinisch, General Manager of Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa added “Nada Ali was the right choice for this role, simply due to her passion for looking after the environment. Following our Green Tourism Award earlier this year, we needed to take further steps to implement best practice and green initiatives. Nada has my full support and I look forward to hearing more of her ideas and suggestions”.

Earlier this year, Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa was awarded a ‘Dubai Green Tourism Award’ by DTCM recognising the efforts the resort has made to look after the environment. The resort also sponsored a turtle as part of the EWS-WWF’s Marine Turtle Conservation Project and took part in a fish release initiative in collaboration with the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) – Trakhees.
