Situated on the first floor of JA Ocean View Hotel, Fogo Vivo is the hotel’s signature restaurant and means ‘Living Fire’ in Portuguese. The unique Brazilian Grill or churrascaria is a dining concept that originated in the late 1970s in Brazil. Inspired by the "gaucho" style of cooking - meats that were roasted over open flames by the "cowboys" who lived and worked on the South American Pampas. This restaurant allows diners to sample more than twelve different cuts of meats, cooked over our own in-house version of the bbq and delivered to the table on large skewers (Rodizio’s), before being carved directly onto your plate. The selection of meats include various beef cuts, chicken and lamb and are simply seasoned with rock salt to bring out the best flavours. In order to complement our churrascaria, we also have an extensive salad bar offering only the freshest ingredients and produce from across the globe. In addition, the a la carte menu offers seafood and vegetarian dishes as alternatives for non-meat eaters. Each place seating features a wooden traffic light counter. Green indicates a guest is ready to start receiving the meat and only when the counter is green, will the waiters approach the table. If the counter is red, this signifies the guest has finished eating and no more meat will come to the table. Unfortunately there’s no orange to offer a half-way point, but guests can flip from green to red and back again several times throughout their meal. Tastefully decorated the restaurant features dark wooden flooring and subtle nods towards Brazilian heritage. The fiery orange chandeliers add a touch of vibrancy and the South American tunes from the live band ring out across the restaurant. The Fogo Vivo Experience is available for only AED 295* per person and includes a welcome cocktail, unlimited starter buffet, a selection of meats and dessert buffet.
